FRENCH GARDEN RESTAURANT AND BISTRO

FRENCH GARDEN RESTAURANT and BISTRO blends the elegance of classical Europe with the warm, relaxed atmosphere of Sebastopol.   Dan Smith and Joan Marler opened French Garden in 2006 to feature the year-round harvest from their 30 acre organic farm and to create a beautiful environment for people to come together in celebration of community.  The restaurant not only offers the freshest locally produced cuisine, but cultural events as well, such as films, dinner concerts, poetry readings and dance.

French Garden has a stellar professional team:  Pierre Lagourge (former owner of Chez Peyo), Maitre d’; Debbie Espinosa, General Manager; and Executive Chef Christophe Bony.

Chef Christophe Bony moved to Sebastopol to express his creative artistry with fresh-picked produce from the French Garden farm.  His rigorous training included intensive work at the hree star Michelen Arpège in Paris before being chosen as chef at the Auberge Ravoux outside of Paris, the final abode of Vincent Van Gogh.

With thirty acres of farmland just west of Sebastopol, Dan grows most of the seasonal fruits and vegetables that grace the plates at the French Garden. Dedicated to sustainable organic farming, the farm hosts many varieties of heirloom fruits and vegetables not otherwise available.

Our ample facility is the perfect space for special events, including wedding rehearsal dinners, private parties, business meetings and other important gatherings - from 20 to 200.

The French Garden is open for dinner at 5 pm Wednesday through Sunday.  The full bar offers a lovely ambience with a delicious, affordable menu and live music on weekends.  Sunday Brunch is served 10:00 to 2:00, with patio dining, weather permitting

We look forward to serving you at French Garden.
