MEDICINE FOR WOMEN’S SPIRITS Cucuteni

Join us for a veritable feast of some of the most treasured archaeological images and cultural traditions found in rock art, murals, ceremonial vessels, figurines, seals, and female sculptures from all over the world.  This new presentation celebrates goddesses, ancestral mothers, medicine women, and sacred imagery that provide medicine for women’s spirits.

MAX DASHU is an historian who founded the Suppressed Histories Archives in 1970 to restore women to cultural memory. She draws from a vast collection of images to teach global women’s history and heritages, and has created over 100 visual presentations and two dvds: Woman Shaman – the Ancients (2013) and Women’s Power in Global Perspective. Dashu is known for her expertise on female iconography in world archaeology, Goddess traditions, women’s history, medicine women, mother-right societies, patriarchy, and other systems of domination. The first volumes of her sourcebook on women in European folk religion and the witch hunts, Secret History of the Witches, are being prepared for publication later this year. For information, see http://www.suppressedhistories.net/ Suggested Donation $10 to assist Max’s pioneering work.

Come early for dinner and keep your table for the evening.  Call (707) 824-2030 for reservations.
